The purpose of the Prospector Soccer Club is to provide an organized soccer program for youth in
our community. The Club operates on a non-profit, volunteer basis. “Children playing soccer” is the
most important goal of this Club. Fulfillment of this goal includes setting an atmosphere of friendly
competition in which sportsmanship, learning and playing soccer are held foremost.
Prospector Soccer Club supports two levels of soccer development: a Recreational program and a
more competitive Select Program. Any young person can join a Recreational team. On the other
hand, Select teams have tryouts and require prospective players to compete with their peers for a
position on the team. However, like Recreational teams, all Select players are required to play at
least half of every game.
Prospector Soccer Club serves approximately 1,200 youth living in the communities of Cameron
Park, Rescue, Shingle Springs, and outlying areas. We are part are part of El Dorado Youth Soccer
League (EDYSL), which includes seven clubs in El Dorado County. EDYSL, is in turn part of District
VI of the California Youth Soccer Association, otherwise known as CYSA, which includes children
from all of Northern California.
